I am planning on taking a trip to Florida in the near future...assuming the fires go out soon. I've never been and don't really know much...as far
as good beaches n such.
If anyone lives there, or has taken a trip there i'd like to know some good beaches to go to. I'm only going to have 2...maybe 3 solid days to do
stuff there and i'd like to spend a lot of time on the beach. But input on other things to do would be nice as well.
Thanks,
Nate

Hey there!
The Florida crowd must be enjoying the good weather before hurricane season hits.
Just thought I'd leave a few links for you:
Florida Beaches Guide Just ignore the nude beaches section.
Visit Florida
For myself personally, I'd probably have to do Daytona for speedweek if I were to travel there just for the experience.

Hey there, Florida is great! If you end up in SW florida, make sure you go to Englewood beach, you will find LOADS of sharks teeth and sometimes
other fossils. South of Englewood Beach, about a mile or so, is a park called Stump Pass. It's only half an hour from where I live, but it is
awesome. North of that is one of the most popular beaches, Siesta Key. Some cool bars and clubs there too! Enjoy your trip, your coming at a
perfect time, its not too hot yet.

If you are driving, check out St. Augustine, Fl. Its right off 95, and if you head to Old Town, its great fun and the food's good, and there is a LOT
to do. I live here in Jacksonville ( about 45 mins away) and its still a vacation spot for us! It never seems to get old. Also, take one of the ghost
tours, there are really interesting, and loads of fun.

I was born and raised there so...
will say my favorite beaches are on the Atlantic side, Esp. Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
The Atlantic coast also has more to offer attraction wise of course... Coral Castle(So. Miami), St. Augustine, Cape Kennedy, and Daytona.
The Gulf Coast has Sanabel Island(very pretty), various Tampa area attractions such as Silver Springs, Busch Gardens.
In the middle of the state-off the coast line-... lake Okeechobee, Orlando attractions, Swamp air boating and fishing.
The Keys!
The Panhandel area best reflects the Old South.

I live in Melbourne Beach. If you can go there, you should! Great beaches, one good surf break near the Double Tree hotel. It's a great place that's
really old and full of history, although they're putting up alot of new hotels. Also, check out Historic Downtown Melbourne.
