Some are actually quite clever, like this one...
The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn't.
I believe I read a similar analogy in one of the 4 books in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. Which went something like "it flew
not unlike a brick."
That train one is not bad either...
Strunk and White actually teaches not to use "stock" analogies.
Kinglizard, this is my first venture into bts and I cant get off this thread! I am having fun running around on this stuff, the kids really loved the
never ending picture I was blown away by the "In the night" subway song, wow that would have been the place to be.
My 'best' was 1102 (what a whimp I am) before I got to a spot where I had to decide to go up or down (equal space above and below; tight squeeze)
then I smacked into a corner of the rectangle
