Yes, it's Friday 13th!
So how many people in our ranks subscribe to the myth or indeed the superstitions woven around this day and date in the calendar?
Do you have a personal story to tell about misfortunes or other tales around this day.
Do you batton down the hatches in the home?
Avoid going to work?
Is this 'just another day' or a day of dread?
Care to share experiences past or present?
Lets hear from you folks.....

I cringe when it's a Friday the13 not because I remember anything really bad happening but just because I don't want it to. I am a slightly
superstitious person, finger crossing and knock on wood etc.Just hoping I make it through today with nothing bad happening.Of course bad things can
happen any day. Could it be the power of thought that creates bad things happening to people on a Friday the 13? Has anyone ever had the opposite
happen? Something good happen on Friday the 13. Sorry, Iam not trying to hijack your thread.Just curious.

I just have a problem with 13's all together. They all seem to bring bad luck. Yesterday was the 13th, and though it was a sunday was one of the
hardest days of my life. I brought it on myself, and i think it's better this way, but still. Anything bad always has a 13 in it. Wonder if
that's what made people so paranoid?

I gotta' ask- are you still married? I mean this would prove or disprove the theory.

Not really. The two Friday the 13ths would just cancel each other out.
At least, that's what my Magic 8 Ball says.

He he he.
Ready for this?
I was born, Friday, June 13th
I was 6 Pounds, 13 Oz
My brother Dan was 13 when I was born.(Comes up later)
I was my Mom's 13th pregnancy ( 8 of us lived )
I have 13 letters in my name.
When I was 13, my brother Dan died (He flipped a tank over in the Marines, he and the gunner died.
Not bad, huh?
On a sidenote, my Dad died July 4th, 1776. He was a Super-Patriot. We even had eagle and stars wallpaper. There were eagles all over the house. On
clocks, bathroom tiles, everywhere. Even the tiles in the bathroom were eagle themed. And then BAM! Died on the 4th, during our Bicentennial
celebrations.
21 years later, to the DAY, on July 4th, 1997, my Mom died.
Strange, huh?

Dude, how old are you???
(Yes I'm sure it's a typo but I couldn't resist).
My best buddy as a youth had 13 letters in his last name and his birthday's June 13th. Luckiest SOB I've ever known. He lives in SoCal now.
Haven't heard from him in years.

Oddly, I've always thought of 13 as kind of a lucky number... though I have no idea why. It just never felt unlucky to me.

Friday 13th is considered unlucky because of religous reason(or so I've heard), Jesus was killed on the cross on a Friday and there were 13 people
present at the last supper. It was supposedly a Friday the day Eve tempted Adam with the apple.
I'm Pagan though so Friday 13th is actually a lucky day. Friday is named after the Norse goddess Freya, goddess of sex and fertility, and Friday is
also the day of Venus. Both are goddesses of love and beauty. The number 13 is sacred to those who hold them dear. So Friday 13th is actually
considered a lucky day to get married.
Also there are 13 lunar months in a year.
(Its also probably because the Pagans find Friday 13th lucky that the Christians find it unlucky)

Personally I have no problems with Friday the 13th. Now, Monday the 13th that I have a problem with. I mean Friday the 13th, you've got the weekend
going for it. But monday is a "Return to the old slog" day. I sorta feel that more things go wrong on a monday than they do on a friday.
