Internet creation

Topic started on 30-12-2003 @ 08:30 PM by kramtronix

I just came across this story, and found it interesting. Interesting because I saw a show on Discovery about a year ago showing the US Military using an "internet" system that enabled them to access a database from remote and off-site locations, and also download/upload information. So where does this story fit it?

Berners-Lee was partly responsible for the release of the WWW, the internet as we know it now, but the military were using ARPAnet long before (since '69 I think).

Click here for a timeline history of the internets creation.
