View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth.

Take a look at this!

View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth.
Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of magnitude until you reach a tall oak tree just outside the buildings of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida. After that, begin to move from the actual size of a leaf into a microscopic world that reveals leaf cell walls, the cell nucleus, chromatin, DNA and finally, into the subatomic universe of electrons and protons.

micro.magnet.fsu.edu...

I thought it looked great.

I remember this.... It's an interesting tool that really puts reality in perspective, huh? Makes you realize how much of a speck we are...

Hawking discussed a similar concept to this. (Buggered if I can remember which lecture/book). Where he started with a square with sides the size of a man, multiplied by 10 repeatedly and showed what would be encompassed by the expanding square.

Its much more impressive visually though
