Can you make yourself dream about something specific?
I was wondering, I have heard if you like write down something over and over on a piece of paper that you will dream about it that night, Like if I
wanted to dream I was a rockstar or something, I would write down what a rockstar does and try to imagine it before I go to bed, Does this really
work? If its true of course or is there another way of doing it? I'm really like to win a supercross before I die, dreaming or reality LOL. Thanks!

I'd assume if you do write something down over and over again you could quite possibly dream about it. I haven't tried doing that but I know in the
past I have often dreamt about things/people I've seen during the past couple days. Like, I might see a couple family members one day and that night
I may have a dream which have them in it or I might dream about a place I've been that day. So I guess if you write something down over and over
again it could likely have the same effect.

Making yourself dream about a certain thing? I have dreamt about things I've seen during the day. But I don't know if you could chose to make
yourself dream about it. There have been time though when I've been dreaming that I felt I could control what happen during the dream. I could be
dreaming I was in a, lets say, a park. I haven't chose to dream about the park but sometime I feel like I could control what I do while I'm dreaming
about being in the park. So, I'm guessing you most likely make yourself dream about something specific.

I don't know about writing it down on a piece of paper...
BUT, think of it this way: Why don't you want little kids to watch horror movies before going to bed? Because they have nightmares.
So yes, it is possibe to manipulate dreams into what you want, if certain conditions are met.
You ever considered Dreaming in a conscious state? Try looking into Lucid Dreaming.

That is an example of lucid dreaming.
Good luck!

I've heard the similar thing - that you'll dream about the last thing you think about before you fall asleep. (Don't think it's necessary to write
it down?)
I've tried this, but it didn't work because
a.) I can't stay focused long enough on one "subject/topic".
b.) The fact that I'm concentrating stops me from falling asleep...
So I don't think it works, because it doesn't explain why we dream about thinks we don't/didn't think about... Like when you dream about someone
you haven't seen or even thought about in ages...

It works for me, well i don't try and do it but it's very common for me to dream about whatever i've been thinking about last thing at night. So i
guess if i wanted to dream about a specific thing, i would just think about it prior to dropping off.
An example of this happened the other night. Last thing before bed i was reading an article on the history of Angkor Wat, the article had a couple of
pictures of the usual carvings and the main points of the temple from an exterior view, but otherwise it was just text. That night i dreampt that i
was walking aroung Angkor Wat and i was jumping, running and generaly exploring around structures and tunnels withing the place. Many parts of the
temple that i dreampt about were not in the article i was reading before i went to sleep.
I also tend to change the direction of my dreams whilst i am having them, i appear to be aware that i am doing this, and i dream about whatever i have
directed myself to dream about, but how it happens is a mystery to me.

or you could write it down so much.. that you dream that your writing it down.. that would suck.
about the scary movie thing. i used to have nightmares of scary movies( and sometimes i still do) , but usually its when i watch a scary one first and
then another on later ( to try to deter my mind from the scariness of the movie)
but i would usually have bad dreams anyway.
i heard somewhere that your mind has to filter somehting like 75 times before you can dream about it. i dont know how fast a mind filters something,
but maybe that will help.
i will look for it and post it when i find it. i think i heard it in a psychology class though???
im out

How do you mean filter? Do you mean think about it 75 times? I'm not sure if it's connected but thats the amount one of the teachers at my kids
school said the average kid needs to repeatedly do something before they learn it thoroughly and for it to become second nature, about 75 times.

Whatever I'm thinking of when I go to sleep, is what I think about in my dreams. So that's a simple yes.

My answer to the question: of course it's possible to control your dreams, at least to some extent.
I would dare to make a guess that if you meditate before going to sleep and after that concentrate on a specific topic, then your chances to have a
dream on the same subject increase substantially.
From my own experience I can tell that it's easier to control dreams during the daytime when you just take a nap. It happened to me once that I was
distracted during my nap several times but only to such extent that I could remember myself turning on the other side and wishing to continue dreaming
on the same topic. It worked.

It is possible to control your dreams, its called lucid dreaming. I have become somewhat an expert on dreams, and I can tell you how they work.
Whatever you are thinking during your dream, it will happen. That is how you get nightmares. Say for some reason your mind thinks of a guy holding a
gun. Your second thought may be "gee I hope he doesnt shoot me", but guess what? Because you are hoping he wont shoot you, he WILL. As hes shooting
you, you might think "oh no, I hope he doesnt shoot my head, it will hurt", but because you are thinking of it, it will happen. You get trapped in
your worst thoughts.
The trick is, and the most hard part about controlling your dreams, is knowing you are dreaming. Most of the times, you will dream for a while in
REM sleep, without thinking to yourself "hey im dreaming". You will just carry on with your dream not thinking anything. But, if you can get
yourself to know you are dreaming, you can do anything. But that is the hard part, because most of the time, the instant you figure out you are
dreaming you wake up.
So, once you are in a dream state, try to get yourself to know you are dreaming, without waking up. Then, whatever you think about, is going to
happen.
But there are limits.... it is near impossible to do things that you have never done before, simply because you don't know what it would be like. So
if you want to dream about flying a helicopter, if you have never done it before, you might wake up when you try. Although, it doesn't have to be
real life experiance. If you flew a helicopter on program Microsoft flight simulator on your PC, you may have the ability to dream about it.
So to truely answer your question, yes its possible to initiate sexual dreams. lol.
I am an expert lucid dreamer, and I have been experimenting with the people in my dreams. I have told the people in my dreams, "hey you are not
real, you are just in my dream", and some of their reactions are insane! Some people say things that I in a million years would never think of, so I
am at a loss to an answer of where these replys are comming from. I would tell you what they say, but I want you to learn, and try, and find out
yourself. You will be supprized.

hello everyone, but enough about me lets get down to the grits so i posted a bit ago about how i have solved puzzles by dreaming them(under puzzle
solving dreams) since i learned about this abilitie i have been able tosolve any puzzle i desire just by thinking about it when i go to sleep.
what you talking about is essentialy the same thing but with different results, and yes what your talking about is aslo reffered to as lucid dreaming
the control of a dream through an act or thought. so i would say give it a try and have fun with it i cant really make myself dream of my favorite
actress in bed with me but for some reason puzzle dreams as ive started to call them come entirely too easy for me.
i would also like to add that i can solve entire homework sheets just by thinking about it before sleeping and im in honors advanced trig( NOT
EASY!!!! DO NOT LISTEN TO TEACHERS IT ISNT EASY AND IT NEVER WILL BE!!!!!!!!!)
rant over.

Fall asleep with the television on, tune it to the most ridiculous infomercials ever, and you will have the strangest dream. I had to start
putting the sleep function on my television to prevent these dreams.

hi, i found this site by looking up something very similar on google. and i've heard that if you think about something hard enough before you sleep,
you can dream about it. but i believe it has to be the very last thing you think about. i've been reading what everyone is saying, and some ideas
seem very intresting. i really hope that they work...because, well just because. sometimes dreams are all you got. im going to look into this
professionaly. if i find anything worth knowing, ill definatly post you up the topic :]. ill be trying this tonight.

I don't know that you can make yourself dream something in particular, but as was said earlier in the thread, I have dreamed about things I've seen
in the daytime, or over the past couple of days.
For example, some random events that could happen:
I saw a friend of mine from when I was in high school, and I went to work wearing red shoes, a headlight burnt out in my car, and I hit 3 stop lights
on the way to work.
I might dream something that includes my friend from highschool, and I might try to fix the broken headlight with a red stilleto at the intersection
during a red light.
I've personally never been able to make myself dream something, but anything is possible...the mind and dreams are an interesting thing.
