Is it really
THAT!!!
difficult to implement awarding of points for tagging past threads etc. in a way that works for the system as well as the taggers?
Am still enough of a librarian to enjoy tagging but not without some reward.

The people at CERN (developers of the World Wide Web) are now developing the successor to the web, called "The Grid". Here is a link to the home
page where CERN coordinates discussion of Grid development:
gridcafe.web.cern.ch...
My question for ATS is, could ATS get involved in doing some of the development (think Beta testing) of The Grid? If that were feasible, it might get
The Grid off on the right foot sooner rather than later.

Hmmm... What would I like to see?
I would like to be able to express my thoughts freely, without unnecessarily rude comments from other members.
I would also like for the Mods to have less power, and be placed in more of a "peer" position.
Has anybody else experienced harassment, or unfair reprimand from these Mods, or been told that you were unable to tell other members about these
negative experiences?

what i'd like to see is this place stop relying on you tube and host its own videos but i guess that might be asking too much afterall i'm sure the
money they make from the ads is not enough to cover it.

Wait, Wait I got one, an alter ego thread, where we can log on with a different name and pretend.
I have my alter ego all ready to go, it is fun I do that on another forum.

I thought I made a post early on and was reading from page 1 and was looking for any replies.
I have to say, THIS is very cool and quite the sounding board for members.
It is very fun being new here and getting to read what everyone thinks and has to say about the site and each other.
I may have had input originally, but there are ideas here that far surpass anything I can come up with.

Look man, I'm sorry if you had a bad experience with a Mod from here. Rest assured that's not the status quo. With almost any thread except the most
obvious breaches of the TAC, before taking any action, we post a link to the thread in the moderators forum, where all the staff see it, and a sort of
democratic decision as to what to do with the post takes place.
Sometimes we're even of a split mind as to what to do about a post, but ultimately, pretty much every "violating" post has a fair trial. We try to
avoid immediate punishment by doing things like U2Uing members and asking them to change the post, or to change their ways. When we do issue some sort
of corrective action, it's usually just a handful of points subtracted from a mostly meaningless total. Generally those two things are enough to turn
posters around and help them be a better contributing member to ATS.
We do not censor "unpopular" or "out there" posts. We censor bad language, not for any particular moral reason, but rather because we don't want
to be added to adult filter lists, which would get us blocked from most workplaces and public libraries.
If you (or anyone else for that matter) ever feel you were unfairly treated by a Mod, then you are always welcome (and in fact, encouraged) to use the
complaint feature. This goes straight to the SuperMods, Admins, and Founders.
While I certainly won't dismiss the possibility of excess or abuse of mod powers in isolated incidents, I can personally vouch for my fellow mods as
being very judicious in the use of their powers. None of us ever log into ATS for the day thinking "Oh, boy, I can't wait to postban some bitz!" or
"I can't wait to lock a thread today!"
When those things happen, they happen because of a lack of cooperation in maintaining the ATS standards of quality and courtesy, not because we
didn't like what was said.

With the arrival of William, ATS has seen a fantastic new level of evolution thanks to his marketing and programming skills.
THANKS THANKS.
I really don't understand what would be so difficult with all the computing and mental power . . .
to set up points for tagging old threads again.
I think the massive data in those threads is valuable for researchers as well as "mere" poster interest.
I enjoy tagging but not without some reinforcement like points.
Seems to me that whatever the problems were, they could be easily overcome with some creativity.

Not to be mean to athest or anyone. But the reason I love the ATS and BTS was it was a place to talk to people with faith in God. Faith and spiritual
was a place to get opinions from Godly people. Now it seam all I talk to are athesis who scream prove what I believe when they cant prove there side
of the story. When there was more faithful in the section I think there was better topics too. Thanks you. No harm.

I think live chat would be cool, at paltalk you can have a live chat room with special guests and question and answer sessions, post dates and times,
see ya'll there,
it would be like podcast, kinda, but in real time.

Bump. I still think this 'small' adjustment would bring profound added comfort to the ATS environment.
