Looks like it'll be fun!

I hope it retains the amusingly one dimensional characters from the comic. The tenuous grip on historical reality (in the form of armoured Rhino's apparently, as well as an armada of eleptants LOL!), has evidently been adhered to as the Xerxes and his Persians seem to have more in common with the hordes of Mordor than human beings. Nice touch of xenophobia there (possibly Xenophonia?!?). I remember glancing throught the Bibliography at the back of Miller's comic, nice to see that he only lists extremely biased sources.

Put simply, history is apparently not nearly as exciting as fantasy!

But hey, it's only a movie!

I saw this movie last night, it is awesome.

It's got a very unique look to it. I give it a 9/10.

Saw the movie earlier this evening it was awesome. Not historically acurate, but great to watch. The film had a unique approach and style. I would pay to see more films with this pairing of writer and director.

I just finished watching this movie, and man oh man was it a sweet movie. Although it wasn't historically accurate, the battle scenes were amazing... soo much blood!!! The visuals were incredible too! Your eyes will pop right out of their sockets!

If you like action, violence, gore and total carnage in your movies, watch this. You won't be disappointed.

Favorite part? hmmm.... I really enjoyed the part when the messenger is kicked into the well. The messenger played his part well. He looked like someone hit him in the face with a dirty sock.

That part was cool, it would be hard for me to chose a favorite part, that whole movie was awesome.

One of the coolest parts that I thought was when it shows the king fighting the Persians in slow motion.

I will probably see it again in the theatre. The experience in the theatre is unique. I will buy that movie; as far as period pieces go it is in a class all its own.

I saw this movie in an IMAX theater tonight. It was great. The more I think about it the more it ranks in one of my top movies.

Wow, what a show!

At the end I wanted to stand up and cheer.
Leonidas was so awesome throughout the movie. Gerry Butler is going to be able to pick any role he wants from now on. The guy was linke a tank in this movie.
The Spartan's Phalanx fighting style was incredible to watch.

From what I hear it misses the point of the graphic novel entirely, and concentrates on how they feel about their wives and what not. I hear it cuts back to the wives missing their men all the way through the fights, and that at the end their dying thoughts are with their loved ones rather than just wanting to die in a glorified way.

If that's the case I'm very worried about this movie. Unfortunately it's not out in the UK yet.

ummm... no

The only woman featured was the queen.
Spend the cash and go see it.
I didn't read the novel before I watched it but I will now.
The movie was that good.

Yeah, the only woman with speaking lines was Queen Gorgo. She was awesome BTW.

A lot of the movie did talk about the glory of dieing in battle right to the end. Leonidas did think about his wife at the very end but it didn't take away from his honor and glory.
