I heard about a girl who went back to her dorm room late one night to get her books before heading to her boyfriend's room for the night. She
entered but did not turn on the light, knowing that her roommate was sleeping. She stumbled around the room in the dark for several minutes, gathering
books, clothes, toothbrush, etc. before finally leaving.
The next day, she came back to her room to find it surrounded by police. They asked if she lived there and she said yes. They took her into her room,
and there, written in blood on the wall, were the words, "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?" Her roommate was being murdered while she
was getting her things.
(I've heard this several different times. Each time it was at a different university.)
Here is the link to the article. And another scary story just like this one. but different:
urbanlegends.about.com...
Well. I would be scared to death if i was that woman. You can get very paranoid after these kind of situations. Maybe the ''Killer'' comes back,
But this time after her.
But anyways, I though this was interesting for some people. And i didn't really knew were to put this.
So, How would you feel at that point if you were that woman?
And if you'd think back at the time when you were in the room. How would you feel?

Sounds like a good story to tell around a campfire. Most urban legends have a moral to the story. This one seems to just be a scare tactic. Moral
appears to be: Stay at a home, venturing out on your own is dangerous!
Or maybe too much studying can kill you.

hehe. It is pretty fun yeah. But when you think of it, and if you were that woman. it wouldn't be so fun anymore!
Hehe. Good one.
Maybe, I know a guy who studies alot though. He is really smart. One day, He had a headache and went to the hospital. 4 days after it he was dumber
than a peanut.
Poor Chris. But it could be true

According to snope, this legend is about 40 years old. It would have been a good story to tell your daughter to keep her from going away to college.
Remeber that the 60s were a very controversial time with the open drug use and free love. I don't doubt that a student was murdered in their dorm.
I do doubt the story of the girl stubling in the room during the murder.

Well a student could be killed in his dorm. There are mostly alot of students in colleges. You could ''easely'' kill someone in their dorm, if you
won't leave any things, fingerprints or clues behind. You can do it. So i don't doubt it either.
But anyways. Why do you doubt the ''Girl stubling in the room'' part?
I mean. I i was the killer. I'd just leave her to. It gets messy with 2 kills.

If the killer was smart, you wouldnt wait for them to turn on the light and see you to attack, as that would give them a chance to scream which would
give you away. So I would say the urban legend is fake, but then again it might have been some idiot posing waiting to be seen, only to not be seen
after all.

That story reminds me of the "humans can lick to" story. I can't be bothered typing it out so just go on my "humans can lick to" thread

Hmmm... If there was enough light to gather up her stuff, with night vision and whatnot, I'm sure she would have seen the killer or at least heard
some commotion.

Or at least she could have smelled something was off in the room. Now I'll turn on my little night light before I go to bed. At least I'll be able
to see in the dark just in case I have to run out in a hurry.

Quite a scary story, makes you think if you were the girl being murdered and your roomate came in got her things and left you'd be quite angry (to be
honest you wouldn't really worry as your about to die) but what a horrible story if true

Oh that scared me.....I don't even know, how I would be feeling at that point if that had happend to me. I'm sure I'd be in shock...and scared to
death...And Im alone in the basement....freaky...
Where was Campus Security? Our Campus is usually pretty tight, with who comes into the student residence. You have to leave your ID at the front door
etc...
