FlyersFan, we all fall short brother, forgiveness and salvation in Christ is for sinners not the righteous. I have sinned probably every day of my
life. In the past I abandoned my faith, used Gods name in vain, had lustful thoughts it goes on and on as it does with everyone I’m sure. I’ve
never killed or anything like that but no matter what the sin Jesus will forgive if you accept him as your king and savior and attempt to live
as he taught. No doubt about it. As I said before there is nothing special about me and look at the way I was accepted into the house of the Lord.
I know this will be controversial but if I leave it out I could distort Gods work through my experience. I grew up in parochial catholic schools
taught by priests and nuns yet I was never baptized. I know some believe that you cannot reach Gods kingdom without being baptized but I am proof this
is not true. Without a doubt I accepted Jesus in my heart before my Near Death Experience and I attempt to follow his word but I was never baptized
and he still accepted me. His love and understanding is deeper than I ever realized or expected. His love and understanding is deeper than I ever
realized or expected.

That, in a nutshell, is the New Testament. And Thank You, KL, for relating your experience. Beautifully, and bravely, done.

Even though I don't believe in heaven, hell or the christian God... And even though I don't know you, I do believe you for some reason. I believe in
Buddha, but God might be a collection of all prophets I presume
Thread minded me, I made a pact with God that if I coulden't stop smoking, I woulden't achieve OOBE's... Until I stop smoking, I won't be having
any :/ But I guess this was a clever part on my behalf.
Oh, I never got to say; I'm glad you made it out alright Kinglizard.

Fantastic experience KL.
I understand what you mean by "Never be the same".
I am a bit denser than you it took TWO NDEs to make me understand, I wont hijack the thread with them and most have heard about them anyway.
I have heard them explained away as oxygen deprivation, dreams, brain death, etc.
But anyone that has ever lived through it knows what it is.

May I become part of this project? It may find resolution more probable and faster than you may think. Here is the question: Are you John 3:16?

Sure! Absolutely. Pray your little heart out!
Adopt me as your prayer project.
(this is serious business!!)
Are you John 3:16?
'For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son: That
whosovever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life
everlasting'
Sure. Absolutely.
Here's the but ... Christ said - Love God with all your heart, mind,
soul, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.
THAT I fall short in. It's a very simple commandment. But I
just can't get it right. AND I admit that I haven't always 'just
fallen short'. Sometimes I just haven't tried at all.
AND (more) if I really believed in Him, would I have gotten upset with Him
when I saw pictures of dead children from the Tsunami?? Children
who died in pain and terror .. when HE had the ability to stop it
from happening?? What kind of parent would allow their little
children to die in such pain and terror when they could stop it?
I wouldn't let it happen to my daughter if it were in my ability
to stop it.
hmmmmm Do I believe ENOUGH?? hmmmmm
I believe. I KNOW. I accept. But is it enough?
Dunno. And that 'dunno' has been on my mind
these past few months.

You might as well get a little buddhist prayer from me I need to practice my praying as well.
My prayer would be to ensure that you live a happy and undangered life in peace.

We all fall short. Every. Last. One of us. Remember the disciples themselves, who were there and witnessed miracles in person, denied and doubted
Christ. Do your best. Live a good life. Don't worry too much. It'll be fine. That's not my promise, it's His.

i only read the first post of this great thread and i am wondering:
can this experience be explained scientifically???
yes i know this is the "faith, spirituality & theology" forum, but i am very curious about "life after death"...
EDIT:
just briefly read this thread and, i must say, the read was great
the only think i can say, in an attempt to "debunk" this claim (nothing personal), is that:
if you were unconscience during this experience, your mind might had created this entire experience, i guess like an extremely vivid dream...
maybe do to the drugs, if any were in your system (???)...

Thank you. I appreciate that.
Problem is .. many people who are on their way to hell live happy and
undangered lives in peace while here. It's what comes next that has
me a bit concerned. It's either the Holy Spirit tickling my brain, or
it's the devil disturbing my peace. Can't tell which ....
Buddhists don't believe in Hell, do they? Just curious....

Dunno. And that 'dunno' has been on my mind

Then it is my pleasure to reiterate the reassurance already written for you:
"Jesus said to them, 'I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life" - John 6:53
Not "may have", "should have", or "will have", but has.
"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." - 1 John 5:13
Not "may have", "should have", or "will have", but have.
It isn't necessary to pray for your eternal life since per above you already have it (as you say, you are John 3:16). Sure, I'll pray for your
eternal life, but more importantly I'll pray that you come to know that you already have it.
See you in the golden city. Maybe a few of us can get together for lunch.
For others, don't have the gift of eternal life but want it? Send U2U for details.

Why is Buddhism different?
Buddhism differs from many other faiths because it's not centred on the relationship between people and God.
Buddhists don't believe in a personal creator or a God, they don't recognise the concept of a "Saviour" and they don't believe in Heaven and
Hell.
from: www.bbc.co.uk...
based on my knowledge of buddhism, from studying it on a high school level, i can say that buddhists believe in nirvana, which is can be said to be
the equal of christianity's heaven...
i am pretty sure that if one has bad karma, in buddhism, that person just gets reincarnated on earth again (this is bad, like "hell," because the
goal is to reach nirvana)...
i hope this helps...

Nice, Kinglizard! Although I would not wish that kind of pain on anyone I admit to some envy as to the revalatory aspect of the experience. NDE
stories have provided me with a sense of wonder about the next stage we all face while in this dimension. There is a thread of continuity without
redundancy to the experiences that lends credibility.
If you enjoyed Kinglizard's experience, I recommend you also visit this site to read more experiences. Some of them are simple and some are amazing.
Kinglizard, you should consider posting your experience here as well. You will also get some confimation of your own experience by reading of
others. Not that you need any!

Remember good ol' science? (not to be confused with scientology or tom cruise)
Nevertheless, medical science offers compelling evidence that many aspects of NDEs are physiological and psychological in nature. Scientists have
found that the drugs ketamine and PCP can create sensations in users that are nearly identical to many NDEs. In fact, some users think they are
actually dying while on the drug
Now imagine that all your senses are malfunctioning. Instead of real sensory input from the world around you, your brain is receiving
faulty information, possibly because of drugs, or some form of trauma that is causing your brain to shut down. What you perceive as a real experience
is actually your brain trying to interpret this information. Some have theorized that "neural noise," or an overload of information sent to the
brain's visual cortex, creates an image of a bright light that gradually grows larger [ref]. The brain may interpret this as moving down a dark
tunnel.
science.howstuffworks.com...
The body's spatial sense is prone to malfunction during a near-death experience as well. Again, your brain interprets faulty information about
where the body is in relation to the space around it. The result is the sensation of leaving the body and flying around the room. Combined with other
effects of trauma and oxygen deprivation in the brain (a symptom in many near-death situations), this leads to the overall experience of floating into
space while looking down at your own body, and then leaving to float down a tunnel.
hmm malfunctioning brain sounds possible?
I wonder if Alien Adbuctions are smiliar??

FlyersFan I would be happy to pray for your spiritual growth but I need something from you. I will pray for you if you will pray for you. God wants to
hear from you, that is the most important thing. You are responsible for your relationship with God and you should connect with him everyday.
I really don't know about your prayer life I just thought it was important for me to reinforce the above.
I don't think you should concentrate on your judgement so much after all that's up to God. Just put your faith in Jesus and you will reach the
Father.
Love and blessings my sister in Christ.....

Thanks for your comments TSA.
All they gave me for the procedure was a few shots to numb the area where the chest tube was going to be inserted. I was completely awake and aware
(unfortunately lol) as no heavy drugs were given.
Anyway it's ok to question things, I'm just here (thanks to God) to share the story with you.
Blessings....
