My dad told me one time he ate monkey...I think it was the hand.

So...what weird things have you eaten, or have you known someone to have eaten?

I ate chocolate covered ants in Hong Kong when I was a child.
They were quite a delicacy there then, not sure whether they still eat them.

They tasted good !!

I ate beaver last night, along with a little bit of muscrat.
(BTW, I've gotten the jokes that come along with saying that, so trust me, I DON'T need to hear them again) Beaver is nice and sweet and tender if cooked right (this was BBQ), and it's not really weird to me, but it is to most people. I've eaten Ostrich, and it's pretty tasty. Beefy, imo.

Monkey, huh? Wonder what that'd taste like.

I guess it depends on your definition of "weird" but I've had alligator, ostritch, and calamari.

Boiled frog and steamed frog (in Hong Kong also)

Well, I've eaten kangaroo, emu, snake, and goanna. Roo is nice and has a venison quality about it, quite gamey. Emu is a bit stringy and tough (I partook of an adult that had not been bred in captivity, so perhaps the farm-bred ones are tastier). Snake and goanna are fairly similar but I preferred snake. Goanna meat has a bit of a stink about it.

I have also dined on sheep's brains, bull's testicles, ox tail ,and ox tongue.
Anyone eaten head cheese?

I actually tried frog legs when I was a child...they sort of taste like chicken. Had them at Pete's Roadhaus in Lake Orion, Michigan. I don't think the place is there anymore...I think it was on M-24 (Lapeer Road).

I've eaten ants and a cockroach when I was little.

I've eaten both dry and wet cat food (dry on a dare, wet because I was curious.).

I've eaten grass before as well.

And I'm on the same diet as WorldWatcher right now, so what she said.

After a normal lunch, my (still) best friend said I should try a "candy" her sister had brought back from South America--turned out the small black ball was not licorice but some kind of crunchy bug, yechh. As a child I loved the hamster and rabbit food (some kind of green pellet, grassy sweet).
My husband thinks('') is weird.

My younger sister used to eat dog food a lot when we were kids.

She also used to drink ketchup straight out of the bottle, and she was known for ketchup sandwiches and dunking bread in Pepsi.

I ate snails once or twice, but that is not exotic at all.
Only if it counts more when it was in Chernobyl disaster days. (radioactive snails, delicious, just kidding).
And pigeon soup also, if it counts.

i found interesting link which puts all this together

www.noodlepie.com...

As a purebred carnivore, I'm willing to munch on just about any kind of meat, someone above wrote that they ate calamari, thats like standard fare in Australia!

Everyone I know eats calamari every time we get fish and chips!! Same thing for the person who wrote Shark, however it is usually called flake.

As for myself, I have eaten crocodile (delicious,) kangaroo, quail, pigs trotters, bone marrow, and if the rumours about KFC are true, then I suppose I have munged down a cat or two in my time.

I'm eagerly anticipating eating somewhere I can try emu, or snake, after all, a snake is just a steak! I also would like to go to bali and drink a shot of snake poison.

I find it much more strange to eat chemicals/food out of a can than to eat a good hearty meal of crocodile.
