Paul Gadd otherwise known as the 70`s pop icon , Gary Glitter , has today been sentanced to 3 years in prision. He was charged with Child Molestation
- the 2 girls are aged 11 and 12. The trial lasted a fraction over 36 hours , and Glitter was found guilty and was sentanced to 3 years in prision.
Earlier in the case the prosecution wanted to charge him with child rape - a crime which holds the death penalty in Vietnam, but didn`t have enough
evidence.

VUNG TAU, Vietnam (Reuters) - A Vietnamese court sentenced "glam rocker" Gary Glitter to three years in jail on Friday for molesting two 11-year-old
girls, although if he wins early parole he could be free by Christmas.
"I'm innocent", the 61-year-old shaven-headed Glitter, who now sports a white goatee beard, shouted after the verdict was pronounced following a
one-day, closed-door trial

He will be deported back to the UK after he has spent time in prison - he could be out as early as november (good bahviour and time allready served)
BUT he can/will be charged for the additional 3000+ photos that were found on his computer/
Manypeople said he got off lightly and should have many MANY years more - BUT i must say the justice system is very efficiecnt (unlike many countries
which take years to trial someone) as this was 36 hours from start to finish.

Also there parents are to blame too. They sent the children to his house after he had given them money, i find it hard to believe they didn't know
what was going to happen. Child prostitution is a major problem in that country and if it wasn't for the media interest i wouldn't have been
surprised to see no trial at all.
That being said, i am so happy he has got what he deserves, lets just hope he doesn't get out early.

no, his pc was broken and he took it in for repair & thousands of child porn pictures were found on there so he was jailed.
obviously he moved away the uk when he got released thinking he could carry on but he isnt banned from there. i think he should serve his sentence in
a uk jail. that would ensure he would never commit that offence ever again

No, he was kicked out of Cambodia a couple of years ago. And it wasn't 'cause he had sex slaves, it was 'cuase he was a convicted sex offender and
they didn't want the risk of him being there. Paedophilia is slowly gaining support from law enforcement and government there, after a decade as a
child-sex haven. When I say popularity, I mean they are enforcing the laws and arresting the perpetrators, some of them are even being found guilty.

I am not too sure about the punishment thing. Not that I think what he did was justifiable but I think prision will not affect him much.
I think he needs mental help rather than physical incarceration. Maybe put him in an asylum and treat him because his case seems more pahtalogical
than criminal.
The part about the parents sending their kids to him also sickens me and I think I would be with Oni in asking for them to be punished but not killed
as their kids would still need them.

I thought he was going to be killed! Because he damn well deserves it. I hopoe he rots in prison all the same though.
I agree with Oni, though my method of killing him would be much more severe.
