For me it has to be the Championship Manager games or Football Manager 2006 in its latest version.Just spent an unbelievable amount of time trying to
take my favourite football teams to the heights of the Champions League etc.
That and the Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andreas, just because you can go off and spend hours mucking around the gane aimlessly trying to get
your weapons ratings up by shooting all you see...

I have to confess a certain level of disappointment that none of you has even mentioned "Xenogears" in the list of games... It was quite possibly
the finest RPG ever made, marred only by the unpolished second disc which was primarily due to it being pushed out the door prematurely.
Aside from Xenogears, which tops my list, there is the Quest for Glory series published by Yosemite entertainment before Sierra sacked the whole
department because King's Quest: Mask of the Ages was a horrendous game (Yes, it makes perfect sense, one flagship title bombs so you fire a whole
department, go Sierra!).
Then there is Ultima... which, hands down, *DID* change the industry and held a rich and luxuriant universe before Electronic Arts got their demonic,
money grubbing hands on it and choked any semblance of life from the series before destroying the crew that originally dreamt the universe up (And
other universes... rest in piece, Origin).
And there is a little remembered game published that adopted the universe of Raymond E. Feist's series of books called "Betrayal at Krondor". This
game is mind candy, and while it is visually painful to play today (Graphics horrendously dated), it is still one of the finer games I had ever
played... mostly due to the sheer FUN of the gameplay overall.
So, other than one person who mentioned Ultima, now I feel old as most ever other game mentioned in this thread happened in the last ten years.

Super Smash Bros. Melee- At long last, I got bored of this one after playing it for about 2 years, Excellent fighting game
Spyro Year of the Dragon- I played this when I was younger, kept me busy for several years (I know, that's not normal) It took me a while to totaly
complete it.
Prince of Persia Two Thrones- I got this just recently but so far, I think it's awesome. I'm still near the beginning though I'm making steady
progress, excellent free-style fighting and totaly G-rated. OK, so it's rated M, but hey, I let my 8-year old (or is he 9?) cousin play
it and he enjoyed it, who cares if you get to slice people in half, or rip their heads offf with a daggertail. OK, that's besides the point, anyway,
the game's awesome, I hope I can beat it.

I am sorry to say but any game for Nintendo Gamecube is bad. Sorry folks but mario is getting old by the millionth time we have seen a game marked,
mario this and mario that. Talk about LAME. Soon it will be like the sims series. (ex: the sims living small, the sims vacation, etc...) soon we will
be seeing Mario as president, Mario: New World Order, and the ever-popular Mario: Relationships. Any thing on the cube now a days is pretty bad. Seems
to be oriented towards girls. I mean if you guys are like 16 and play nintendo gamecube, tshhhh, wow.

I forgot to add Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3, all great games. Good story to go with the games. Hopefully, MG4 will give some closure to the storyline.
Oh, and I loved the Battlefield Series and Doom Series. Great games.

Errr, SSBM isn't about Marioi. It has 25 characters from Nintendo's past combined into one game. I don't know if you've noticed but GC has a lot
of games that are also on XBOX an PS2 (such as Prince of Persia).

Starcraft
Its already almost 8 years old, and I bet it will be played even another 10 years from now. It will never die because it's the greatest RTS ever.
Sonic is also one of those keepers.

Mine are the NINJA GAIDEN series for the old NES, I spent most of my junior high life playing those!! The first one has to be the hardest game I have
ever tried to beat! Also the MEGAMAN series up to the 4th one were cool too, I have not played those for years now... Oh the memories...
Today though, it would be the PRINCE OF PERSIA series for the PC and X-BOX, love the fluid movements, fighting sequences, wall running, and trying to
solve the puzzles, awesome genre.
Also really liked TIMESPLITTERS:FUTURE PERFECT for the X-BOX, It had some pretty funny moments in it!!
