Antibiotics And Growth Hormones In Meat

yup... you heard right. There are antibiotics and growth hormones in meat (not all meat, but most). Not good . If you need to take antibiotics for some reason it might not be working so well because you´ve been eating too much of it over time. And the stuff you´re supposed to battle with antibiotics will build up resistance againts antibiotics as well...

This (quoted below) is the kind of meat we should be eating all the time, and not the other stuff. Too bad this "good meat" is often very expensive... :


Btw, meat from moose and reindeer are also without antibiotics...

It's kind of depressing think about what all is in our foods. And it is true.. organic meets and vegetables can be either hard to access, or expensive, or both. I always spend a bit more and get the organic veggies, but it's not always possible with meat (accesibility).

i have been aware of this for years. i have not eaten meat for 12 years partially for this reason. i truly believe the crap in our food is responsible for the disease that has aflicted our earth. if we look back in time, it is just since our food industry moved beyond the farms and into the corporations that disease has dramatically increased.

This is one of the main reasons I only eat halaal meat. Aside from it being blessed and the animal killed in the least painful way, it is clean and it comes from a farm nearby where the animals roam free and eat organic food. My family knows the suppliers and I feel safe eating this meat.
I haven't touched meat from an outside source albeit chicken or a steak on a rare occassion in a nice restaurant (we have organic restaurants now too tho so ) in a looooong time.


Alot of non-Muslims I know eat halaal meat too, my dad sells it in his business now and sells out almost every day!

Do not think that buying organic food is going to save you any health problems.

What do you do when you get sick? Take medicine?

Or do you just lay there waiting for it to pass?

Do you want the cattle to be sick just so you can be relatively better off?

Does it pay to buy organic?

Judge for yourself.

I am in agriculture (grains) and no we are not organic. I am not against organic. It has its benefits to both the producer and the consumer.

We can no longer afford to farm period. No, organic farming will not get us anywhere either.

I hope a time comes when everyone has to produce their own food. Only then will you see the burden and appreciate your food at all.

In my area, we have very few organic producers. Does that mean the animals are locked in cubicles and tortured until death? No they are all free range. 160 acre plots. Thats better than most humans have. They eat organic. Just because we are not "certified" doesnt mean our product is not good.

Organic certification is a joke.

Well I don't really Dulcimer, The main reason my family eats halaal meat is because the animal is blessed. I just trust that the meat I can bring home from these supplier's IS clean and antibiotic-free.
U can even choose the goat, lamb or cow U want (ewwww if U ask me but U can if U wish).
And if it's the money being spent, well it isn't that much more expensive to buy organic than regular food these days. But see I have connections lol the meat, my dad's store and fruit & veg my lil brother works at the wholesale market for Melbourne, where all the businesses buy theirs from. I usually get what I need for free.

At least I know this meat is fresh, and I rarely get sick, we are all quite very healthy people even though we smoke, drink etc ... *knocks on wood* lol Nothing ails us (yet).

I just couldn't eat meat from a supermarket shelf or even majority of butchers out there (the stories I have heard would make U gag, just last week the health inspector poured bleach all over the butcher next door to my dad's sotre's meat. He was STILL trying to sell it!!! ewwww), not knowing how long it has sat there, where it has come from etc...
