Why would an innocent person flee? Don’t matter much anyways; if they want him he will be extradited.

What kind of extradition agreements do the Dutch have with the US?

I know there's one specifically in place for the transport of terrorists, but I'm not sure how it stands otherwise; most European countries are reluctant to extradite if the death penalty is a possibility (as most no longer have it themselves). Besides that though, many countries simply will not extradite one of their own citizens, regardless of the crime.

(does this even matter? If the crime was committed in Aruba, there's no US jurisdiction anyway, correct? And if that's the case, why would the Netherlands extradite someone from one part of their Kingdom, to another?)

This is ridiculous. He didn't flee to Holland. He went to Holland to study. College there starts this week. If anything he still has to maintain regular contact with the authorities there, and he can be detained again if necessary. He's not out of the hands of the authorities.

Isn't it tragic how something so benign can be twisted into something so malignant? What on earth happened to the premise of being innocent before proven guilty? Or have we just decided he's guilty, without a trial, because the Media seems to think he is, too?

For somebody who is just "going to study" he sure was happy to be there...


I would think that being the center piece of a murder investigation would keep him close to home...But I guess things work differently down there in regards to this sort of thing.

More to the point though; how long has "being happy" been a crime?

Even if he is guilty, this doesn't negate the basic premise of innocent until proven guilty; it's unfair for you, me or anyone else to decide his culpability and worse, decide we know the motivation behind his actions.
