I had this idea just now.

Maybe a few of the extra dimensions allow you to move out of current consciousness, hence the cliche "Outside of the Matrix." Maybe dimensions 1-3 we know of are actually mental dimensions, but physical dimensions 4-X are simply "outside of the Matrix."

The dimensions are structured like many planes layered upon eachother. We exist on the physical plane and spiritual plane almost simultaneously. THis is because these two are so close.
