***Breaking News*** Terri Schiavo Has Special Protections

Topic started on 18-3-2005 @ 07:12 AM by 00PS

**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET**

The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.

Members of Congress went to the U.S. Attorney in DC to ask for a temporary restraining order to be issued by a judge, which protects Terri Schiavo from having her life support, including her feeding and hydration tubes, removed... Developing...

This is from Druge and if any Washington Insiders know anything it's him.

It looks like the ends is not near for Schiavo - Bravo!

I will say this...

For once our elected officials are fighting to keep one of their constituents alive! That's noteworthy.

Nevermind the fact that this is an end-run around states rights, spousal rights, and common decency.

THANK GOD! I'm sure hubby-dearest is shaking in his boots
hearing this ... scared to death that they might get ahold of
her medical records and let them testify FOR her. He has a
lot of explaining to do ... how'd she get all those fractures
and broken bones before collapsing - eh hubby???

I notice you didn't say anything about Terri's rights ...
her right to live and her right to physical therapy.
oh ... a slow painful starvation is 'common decency'??

This shows the goverment can save lives. Let's hope they go through with it and save more lives for more people and their families...

Wow, I'm feeling rather optimistic tonight...pessimism will return tomorrow.

well, I think I share the same opinion that's been expressed so far as far as "hubby" goes......

but isn't this kind of an abuse of power on behalf of washington???

or do they expect Terri to wake up tomorrow, fly to washington, and testify???

hey, I bet if that did happen, "hubby" would be more than shaking in his boots though

let's all send prayers and positive thoughts to terry, visualize her walking, boarding a plane, and flying to Washington......hey, miracles do happen.....
and well, this would be a great time for one.

I was unaware that human beings lacking the chemical and electrical signals commonly agreed upon as thought, were able to feel pain. And as a side note, Terri had rights up until the point she ceased to be a human being and became a vegetable. If my understanding of the situation is flawed, please illuminate my dark, dark world. right back at ya'

I know you're just fanning the flames so I won't bite ya but

pain is something we really cannot figure out if she suffers

or not.

Maybe when she testifies she can tell us

What if this entire time Terri Schivo has been pleading silenty from pain she is enduring, or going crazy in you own head at the fact you can see and hear and think but cannot communicate or move.

What if you were the in husbands shoes, maybe she did make him promise? How do we know? We don't know. I would not want to be in the shoes of any judge.

I understand the parents, and husband is a scumb@g, but what if? think about it

I'm not fanning any flames, I'm just making a valid point about the perception of the value of human life after essential functions have ceased. You know as well as I do she's not going to be able to testify, because she's brain dead. This maneuver is a not-so-cleverly-disguised attempt to prolong her life indefinitely. The politician in question knows damn well she won't be able to testify.

I just hope this case is an inspiration to people to write a living will early. You never know what might happen to you.

If you think she can feel pain from starvation, then that would contradict everything we know about the necessity of electrical energy in the processes related to nerve action.

I dont think I would be able to pull the plug on my wife if roles where reversed.

I cant say it wouldnt think about it. What a rough life he must be living.
I think he has realized that he dont love her like he did. Think about the medical bills. Im sure the parents are helping, but they must still be super high.

For me I guess it would come down to how alert , aware, and her abilty to show she is still alive inside.
Honestly, if they are just there and not living but are just alive are you really saving a life?

When people die, we mourn for the people that knew the person, not for the person.

If you believe in God, then you must believe that it is ok and even a good thing to die because you will be with him.

Man I was ready to pull the plug today...nah that's just a joke...

But if I have to truly think about my wife's life then I hope that money comes into play but we must think realistically.

Who is paying for her life for so long? It may come to a point where she has such little life left and keeping her alive is not an option so what do you do?

John Q.?

I'd be more than happy to shine some light in that darkness...

No seriously ... I'm sure you are thinking compasionately and
have the best intentions. But please read the article here -

www.lifesite.net...

There is a story about a woman in WORSE shape than Terri.
She said she could feel everything. She could hear everything.
She felt the pain of starvation for 8 days before her lawyer
husband was able to end it. She is doing very well now. Her
left side is a bit weak but otherwise, she is doing GREAT.

Mostly ... she is STILL a human being. She NEVER stopped being
human. Just because she is disabled doesn't make her any less
human than you or me.

No. She responds to people. She responds to her mother.
She even responded the the priest who was allowed to visit
her (until her 'husband' decided she shouldn't be allowed a
spiritual visitor and kicked the priest out).

Terri Schiavo has NEVER BEEN TESTED to see what, if any,
perm. brain damage has been done. Here is a quote from
Sen. Frist - who is a medical doctor and who understands
these things - He is talking about Terri Schiavo.

Frist said on the Senate floor. "In fact -- this is what I'm told -- that she
hasn't had an MRI or PET scan which suggests she has not had a full
neurological exam."
