A Sharia Court in the United Arab Emirates has sentenced a pregnant housemaid to get 150 lashes because she is pregnant and not married. If she survive, she will get deported.



Just to think about the fact that somebody is about to give 150 lashes to a pregnant girl makes me totally speechless. And this is their law, they call this justice. Brave girl, she didn´t tell the name of the child´s father. Sharia =

This type of fundimentalism just makes me want to puke. Proof positive that the seperation of church and state is a good thing.

I´m not sure if rape is considered as a crime over there. Fundamentalists say that if a woman is not completely covered from top to toe, she is "asking to get raped"...

yes articles like this make me happy to know we have freedom of religion in america.
Though how much longer is another topic.................................

thats their law so she's gotta accept it. of course people do not have to like the laws of other countries but it is not up to us to tell them that lashing a woman can not take place any more. perhaps one day they will move beyond physical forms of punishment. that is up to their country though.

this just goes to show how backwards the world still is. and some consider us to have come a long way and become so civilized....yeesh....
