Briton arrested over hoax e-mails saying loved ones died in tsunamis

A British man has been arrested for sending hoax e-mails in the name of the British government to people appealing for information about missing loved ones on SkyNet News...

LONDON (AP) - British police said Sunday they have arrested a suspect in connection with hoax e-mails that informed people their missing loved ones had died in south Asia's tsunamis.

The messages, which claimed to be from the British government, were sent to friends and relatives who placed appeals for information on the Sky News TV website.

London's Metropolitan Police said officers investigating the case arrested a 40-year-old man Friday in Lincolnshire county in central England and seized computer equipment...

Well, it reminds me of the guy who claimed his son Wilfred died on 9/11. Unfortunately Wilfred never existed, and the man was shown to be a coldhearted animal who wished to get money from 9/11 funds.

But at least that guy had a motive. He was out for cash. What in the world could this person have been after by giving fake info about missing people? Was his motive simply to cause people emotional pain?

I consider this case worse than the first one. Throw away the key.
